Medicinal infusions are a perfect drink for gourmets. Buyers of the medicine, Corvalol and Moskovia lotion every day go to the pharmacy and buy two bottles at a time. It’s no longer possible - alcohol infusions are included in the list of over-the-counter medicines, the issue in one hand is limited. Tamara Kolos took up the problem of pharmaceutical alcoholism in Belarusian style.
After RBC’s investigation into pharmaceutical alcoholism, the Belarusian fakes became alarmed: it turns out that the hearts and calm drops of vikoryst are far from being recognized. It’s true, it’s the food that’s to blame: why did it take at least ten years for the veterinary doctors to destroy the food for introducing a prescription in the country in order to remove alcohol, just at once?

“Three infusions of hunger, be kind,” I ask the pretty girl behind the counter. There are plenty of similar youmu in the residential areas and central courtyards of Minsk. It’s difficult to establish the exact amount of “addicted to the eye”: when trying to conduct a sociological survey, the marginalized were sent to three years, and the citizens would rather underestimate the amount of alcohol consumed. Knowing the problem is difficult for an alcoholic to cope with.

The World Health Statistics report shows that in 2015 in Belarus, 17.1 liters of pure alcohol fell per person in 15 years. Among Minsk alcoholics, the popularity of the tincture of glodu, calendula, and dog dill, produced by the Borisivsky Medical Preparations Plant, is appreciated. You can also drink Russian “Lamivit” and “Moskoviya”, where the alcohol content reaches 95-96%. “They are younger, so we love them more,” - a pharmacist I know. In such cases, use salicylic and boric acid. The surge in interest in pharmacy “cocktails” is due to France (“for a hangover”), as graduation days are approaching, as long as wine and bitters are subject to Prohibition.
Around the giants clearly give precedence to the heart drops of the burner. The reason is the price: for just 11 kopecks you can buy a small bottle of dog dill, for 45 kopecks you can buy a bottle.
For doctors, the limiting minimum price for a liter of Belarusian 40% alcohol is 5.58 rubles, the benefit is obvious. It’s more important that in the pharmacist our medicinal doctors can dissolve the drug with 70% or more hundreds of alcohol.
Rivers of alcohol that are not subject to excise tax
The two main suppliers of medicinal infusions in the territory of Belarus are the RUP “Bilmedpreparati” and the BAT “Borisiv Plant of Medicinal Preparations”. Judging by the fresh water, the plant near Borisov quickly produces over nine million bottles of infusions, alcohol and oleoresins. The sale of medicinal infusions is difficult without a prescription, so it is difficult to establish the exact procedure. Also, the open sheet of Grodno doctors provides the following information: in the first half of 2016, 77.8 thousand bottles of infusion were sold through the pharmacies of RUE “Pharmacia” in the Grodno region glodu, 61.4 thousand – tincture of valerian root, 28.5 thousand – 50 ml of dog dill infusion. And also six thousand bottles of pivonia tincture (50 ml), which is cured, and 1.2 thousand - “Novo-Pasita” (100 ml). These approximate figures indicate that fragments of pharmacies are consumed by more than 60% of the region. The real data is much larger. As in Russia, alcohol infusions in Belarus are not subject to excise tax on alcohol. Since the affinity of ethyl alcohol is low, distillers will be able to recover the negative profits from copy deposits.
The tinctures should be replaced with similar preparations in the form of tablets with extract of water or valerian. However, such a way to shorten income - even for alcoholics, what is important is not the growing warehouse, but the distilled ethyl alcohol.

Possible reasons can be found in the book “The consumption of non-commercial alcohol by local residents” under the authorship of Yuri Razvodovsky, assistant professor of the Department of Pathological Physiology at Grodno Medical University. The author will guess what happened in 2006, when in Russia amendments were made to the law on the regulation of ethyl alcohol circulation (171 Federal Law), as a result of which a number of wholesale alcohol distributors and other retail outlets were closed. Also in 2006, Vlad decided to introduce alcohol and denaturing additives into the country: gasoline, gas, betrex and crotonaldehyde, in order to make them unpalatable for drinking. In late 2006, there was a change in excise stamps, and as a final touch - a ban on the production of Moldovan and Georgian wines. Refill pack: as a result of the acute shortage of legal weed in the Russian province, thousands of people went to the doctor with a diagnosis of “toxic hepatitis”. Not knowing what the technical alcohol was adding to the new rules, the people were drunk on a medicinal bed.
It dawned on me that I couldn’t stay this way for long. Russian alcoholics gradually switched to medicinal infusions, alcoholic lotions and crushers. The tradition began to penetrate to us through the cordon. In the same year, 2006, people in similar regions of Belarus began to observe similar cases of “drinks to remove alcohol of similar origin.” Unfortunately, Belarusian householders have quickly realized the benefits of buying one loaf instead of a liter of ethyl alcohol. Alcohol is practically unavailable for public sale and is sold in pharmacies for prescriptions, and this is the mainstay of alcohol, which is used by the police. For the sake of fairness, I would like to point out that in Belarusian realities there are other substitutes - homemade wine, moonshine, counterfeit burner, technical alcohol, cologne. Moreover, moonshine is cured with special care, so it is an environmentally friendly product.
Drug addiction among Belarusian pensioners
The intercessor of the director of the medical unit of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health, Sergey Osipchik, advocates selling medicinal infusions with alcohol with a prescription. In my opinion, it’s completely different. The same procedure must be followed by medical professionals in order to replace phenobarbital - valocordin, corvalol, valoserdin and others loved by grandmothers. Doctors have repeatedly expressed their respect for the fact that uncontrolled use of these drugs can lead to narcotic addiction.

However, with regular use of barbiturates, the body develops tolerance to them, which will require an increase in dose. Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology of BelMAPO, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Roman Yevsegnev said: “Drinking alcohol is the least evil. For 100 people who drink a glass of alcohol, alcoholism will develop in less than 6%, and for 100 people who drink Corvalol-Valocordin, alcoholism will develop in half.”
Today's medicinal infusions and barbiturates are becoming an important part of the pharmacy business. “Prohibition”, although theoretically designed to promote the health of the population, failed to implement this initiative in practice. This is the best way to shorten the profits of growers.
